MythicalCharm's Slovakian Application

Recommended Posts

IGN(In Game Name):

What Language are you applying for?:

How did your character learn the language? (100+ Characters):

It is her heritage, her parents were both of Slovak decent. Her mother was abandoned by her lover shortly after she gave birth and she was told to get rid of Myth, but she couldn't do it. For the first few years of her life she taught Myth her native tongue. She used what she could to teach her, writing in dirt and only speaking in that tongue. This is her first language and she quickly grasped the language and was able to speak the basics at the age of three. Her mother attempted to teach her to write after she saw her improvements but sadly failed to do so. Unfortunately soon after she turned three her father returned threatening her mother that she needed to have gotten rid of the child. Myth never was able to learn how to read and writ in Slovakian. She then took a flight to Australia and abandoned her child on the streets. Myth was raised in the homeless shelter and the streets and was only able to speak Slovakian. There was one other homeless older lady who spoke her tongue and helped teach her more through her childhood. The homeless lady would point things around the city and teach her new words and phrases to use to her advantage, i.e getting food or help. The old lady did not have any books or technology to help teach Myth so she had to resort to the old fashioned way of learning/picking things up as she grew older. The older lady also chose to only speak Slovakian as it was the only way to communicate with Myth. Until later in her life where she slowly picked up English as everyone else spoke it. Myth was mainly taught through experience and living. Myth sadly doesn't remember her mother but the Slovakian language has been deeply routed in her as she mainly spoke it and that was all she knew from a young age.

How does this benefit your character's roleplay?:

It is her native tongue that she slips into sometimes as habit so It would help me roleplay her more accurately.
