Biography

Damon Archer Kaldwin was born alongside his brother Kal Mischia Kaldwin in Seoul, Korea. Their mother, Ayvin Petrovna Sokolov, was well-renown officer within the city - their father an unknown figure who worked in a neighboring town. Ayvin, a fiercely strict individual, softened herself for her boys, temporarily adopting a domestic life and abandoning her post at the Seoul Police Department. Soon after their birth, Damon's father worked out a deal with Ayvin, the two getting officially married within a court room and purchasing a house for the family. For the first few years of his life, Damon and Kal stayed with their mother, who raised them at home, only taking them to small outing when their father returned from work. However, as Damon got older, around 8-9, he began spending a lot more time with his mother. Ayvin took Damon with her to meetings at the police station, which she still worked at remotely - he even got to meet Yujun Jeong and several other of Ayvin's colleagues before their unfortunate demise. She also began introducing him to firearms, as well as enrolling him in a self-defense class. Even so, Damon was more of a mild-tempered kid, finding more interests in books and eventually in medicine. His mother was a bit dismayed, hoping to raise him into the PD, but she supported his dreams and sent him to a private school to further his education. His brother Kal also showed interest in education, so Ayvin sent him to the same private school. The two spent the first portion of their lives attending elementary, as well as spending time with their mother and father at family outings. By all means, they were a 'functional' family, the only odd thing being their nocturnal routine.

When Damon turned 13 years old, a series of odd events plagued their family. It started when he noticed the tension between his mother and father, whom he learned had only gotten married to provide a stable family for the boys. Ayvin had grown restless, she wanted to return to the PD now that her boys had grown older and self-sufficient. Their father would have nothing of this, arguing that she shouldn't put her career over the stay-at-home life he provided. And so, it continued, Damon and Kal listening behind the door nightly to their mother and father's arguments. Threats of divorce hung over the household, but after some time the arguments stopped. Ayvin had finally conformed to her husband, promising to stay home and work remotely as she had done before. Meanwhile, Kal had become a lot closer to their father, shunning Ayvin after learning she wanted to return to work. Kal felt as if his mother was placing her job over them, though Damon was actually in favor of her going back. He knew how much the job meant to her, and how it could help provide for their family. He wanted to see his mother happy, and he wasn't afraid she would abandon them. So, life continued on as normal, that is, until their father disappeared. It was a typical autumn day, nothing out of the ordinary. But, as Damon, Kal, and Ayvin waited for their father to walk in the door, he never came. Ayvin filed a missing person's report directly after, using her power within the station to push it through even though it had not been 24 hours. But nothing came of the report, and Ayvin soon began mentioning their father left for another woman or had abandoned them for another family. This tore Damon's brother apart.

After their father's sudden disappearance, Damon and Kal were forced to grow up quickly. Their mother had returned to work, needing to provide for the family and support the PD with the recent string of deaths. Damon and Kal were left alone most of the day, spending time in each other's company, studying, and getting into all sorts of mischief. With Ayvin gone, they could go anywhere they wanted after school, as long as they weren't spotted by any members of the police department who might snitch. From 14-16, the boys got into all sorts of trouble, eventually turning to shoplifting, underage drinking, and gang activity like many of the other troubled Seoul teenagers. When the two got caught swiping candy from a convenience store accompanied by some gang members, they were sent to the police department to face Ayvin. Raised by an 'easy going' mother, they were both surprised when she they received a stern punishment. Both were to come to the police station after school instead of going home, and they were to both spend that time studying or attending basics with the other officers. Damon, a very mild-tempered individual with a straightforward goal, chose to study. Kal chose to do basics and possibly establish a future career in the department. Their mother was still very strict and kept a closer eye on them at the department, but she had their best interest in mind, making sure they were both on the right path. Everything was as it should be.

Tragedy occurred two years later when their father's body was uncovered and identified. He had been found over 100 miles away, his body abandoned in a shallow grave that was uncovered as soon as construction restarted. This brought several questions up, including their mother's possible involvement in his murder. Their mother was quickly detained, leaving the boys once again alone. Kal was furious, claiming that it all added up and it had to have been her. He wanted their mother gone, but Damon wasn't so quick to accuse. Damon believed his mother was innocent, even if the circumstances were a bit odd. The court case lasted several days, but with no sufficient evidence provided, the last thing they turned to were Ayvin's boys. Coming in for a testimony, Kal went first, testifying about the arguments between their mother and father and how he believed her capable of the murder. Damon testified next, confirming the arguments but claiming there was no way she committed the murder, considering she had been home all day with them the day their father disappeared. With no new evidence, and the boy's testimonies unhelpful, Ayvin was acquitted. Damon was ecstatic, reuniting with his mother the moment she was released. But Kal was nowhere to be found, and when the two searched for him, they found he had already packed his bags and run off. Ayvin filed him as a runaway, but he was nowhere to be found.

The next few decades of Damon's life were simple, spent attending college, participating in hobbies, spending time at the station, bringing home girls, and normal young adult activities. After several years of hard work and multiple internships, he earned a master's in medicine and was offered a full time-job at the Seoul hospital, where he resides to this day.  He is currently 25 years old.

General Information:

Appearance:

Damon is an average sized male, standing at 5'8 and sporting a very lean build. Originally born with his father's dark brown hair, he dyed it a dark purple that matches well with his steel blue eyes and angular facial features. Unlike his mother, Damon appears much more approachable, his mild demeanor prominent in the way he carries himself. His body carries no scars, and his skin is much fairer than the rest of his family due to him always being within the hospital. Occasionally, during the summer, he sports a mild tan.

Personality:

As mentioned, several times before, Damon is a very mild manner and patient individual. He comes off as a bit arrogant when speaking to other adults, as he values intelligence and looks down upon those who are not studying or already educated. He is much more introverted than the rest of his family, only interacting when he has to at work, or with the small circle of friends he has. However, with critically injured or younger patients, he appears much more empathetic and understanding. Even though he is an introvert, he takes care to check up on his patients, whether they are in the hospital or just happen to pass by. Damon could also be described as a workaholic, considering he hardly leaves the hospital until he is forced by his boss or his wife. Think neighborhood genius with a coffee addiction and no free time.
